Welcome

Preface

Interactive Design – refers to the collaboration between the audience and the design of the user interface with clearly defined goals and communications between the viewer and the technology at hand.

3 screen-captures of cleverly designed User Interfaces that display clarity and conciseness for easy navigation and understanding between viewer and technology

Example 1: Coles Self Serve – Through a touch screen self checkout users can scan and pay for items that they are purchasing without requiring staff assistance.

Example 2: Ebay – An online shopping website that allows the user to look for and purchase items that they require through plenty of interactive menus and interfaces such as the search feature and other drop down menus and tabs.

Information / Instructional Design – refers to the clarity and conciseness of the delivery of large amounts of information or procedures to the viewer in their attempt to expand their knowledge and trivia as well as learn how to perform a task independently after having understood the delivery.

3 screen-captures of cleverly designed Informative info graphs and method maps that are both efficient and effective in allowing the user to understand large amounts of information in a short time span.

Example 1: Assembly Instructions – These set of instructions for IKEA furniture are a perfect example of instructional design as their purpose is to instruct and provide a procedure as to how to complete a task.

Example 2: Trimtuf – These series of diagrams instruct the viewer how to make a cup of tea without any text instructions. Very efficient and easy to understand for people who speak any language.
